GUO Hui joined China Academy of Railway Sciences, China in 2013 after he obtained his doctoral degree in disaster prevention and mitigation engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University. He was appointed associate researcher in 2016 and deputy director in 2019 of bridge and structure division of CARS. His research interests mainly include construction and maintenance of high-speed railway bridges, such as mechanical characteristics of long-span railway bridges, seismic analysis, buckling analysis, performance-based design of bridge expansion joint, and bridge-track integrated inspection and monitoring, etc. With expertise in civil and hydraulic engineering for more than 15 years, he always keeps keen interest in innovations in civil infrastructures, like digital twin application, deformation monitoring by GNSS, ballast status test on long-span bridges, etc. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers, and had 27 items of granted patents. Since 2016, he had made oral speeches in international conference in Stockholm, Vancouver, Hong Kong, and New York to exchange research achievements and ideas with academic community.

Domenico Caputo, 46, MSC cum laude in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnics at the University of Naples “FEDERICO II”; he began his career in Italferr S.p.A., a company of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group in 2004, in Rome, with geotechnical design assignments in the Civil Works sector. Since 2006 he was first geotechnical engineer in the Design Production Unit – South and Islands and later, since 2016, he was Coordinator and Civil Designer of civil works.
In 2021 he is Head of Geotechnics South Unit in the Integrated Design South Unit.

Wang Shuguo, Ph.D., researcher of the Chinese Academy of Railway Sciences, director of the Track Engineering Division, is engaged in the scientific research of railway track structure. In the past 10 years, the research field has focused on the theoretical research, structural design, actual vehicle test and field application of high-speed railway turnout and heavy-load railway turnout, participated in the research and development of high-speed railway turnout and fastener in China, presided over the research and development of heavy-load railway turnout in China, and is presiding over the research and development of the second generation of high-speed railway turnout and the new generation of ordinary speed railway turnout in China.

Candan Gökçeoğlu graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Hydrogeology Engineering in 1989. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Geological Engineering in 1993 and 1997. Gökçeoğlu, appointed Assistant Professor in Hacettepe University Applied Geology Department in 1998, has been working as a professor in the same Department since 2009. Gökçeoğlu has more than 150 international research articles. He won the TÜBİTAK Incentive Award in the Field of Engineering in 2006. Gökçeoğlu’s fields of study are mainly engineering geology, natural disasters, slope stability, and tunneling. In addition to these studies, Gökçeoğlu has research and publications on the applications of artificial intelligence and flexible computing techniques in engineering geology and rock mechanics. During his academic life, Gökçeoğlu also carried out administrative duties such as Head of Department, Head of Department, Secretary General, and Dean. Gökçeoğlu worked as an engineer and consultant in many application and research projects in Turkey and abroad. Gökçeoğlu still works as an Editorial Board Member in Engineering Geology and Associate Editor in Computers & Geosciences magazine.

I started my university life, which I started from the mining engineering department, and continued by studying civil engineering in the double major program in the continuation of the first year. In 2013, I completed mining engineering as the top of the department. I completed the civil engineering department of the double major program in 2014. I have been involved in various construction application and project works. Tunnels and underground structures are my areas of expertise. I have done various railway and highway tunnel and engineering structures projects. I also worked on underground mine galleries and slope stability. I am actively continuing my graduate studies and project studies.
