OFB is a public agency that contributes to monitoring, protecting, managing and restoring biodiversity. The agency carries out five main tasks: 1- to enforce environmental laws, 2- to foster knowledge and research on biodiversity, 3- to help implementing public policies in the areas of water and biodiversity, 4- to support the management of protected areas, and 5- to mainstream biodiversity into society. OFB currently employs about 2800 people.
