Invested and owned by the Beijing North Star Company Limited, CNCC was completed in July 2008, and opened officially in November 2009. The total land area is about 12.22 hectares, and the floor space is about 530,000 sqm. Among them, the main building area of the conference center covers an area of 270,000 sqm, which is the largest single building in all Olympic construction projects. The supporting facilities is about 260,000 sqm, including 2 grand hotels, 2 office buildings and commercial buildings.
The test loop, the largest in Asia, holds 5 state-level innovation platforms and more than 40 dedicated laboratories along the line for scientific research, inspection, calibration and evaluation of HSR, conventional railway, heavy haul and urban rail. With the most extensive coverage of fields, functions and testing scenarios worldwide, the facilities spearhead the global railway industry in comprehensive testing capability.
With a total length of 61.1km, the test loop consists of integrated, heavy-aul, urban rail and calibration test lines. It has been providing a comprehensive environment for the testing of rolling stocks and components concerned since the beginning, participating in and bearing witness to the innovation milestones of China Railway at different stages of development.
For the improvement of the HSR test and inspection platform in China,CARS has been working relentlessly for the speed upgrade of the test loop. As the test speed goes up to 222.2 km/h, the integrated test and inspection capacity has been intensified substantially. In recent years, the National Railway Test Center has made every effort to build the “digital railway test loop” functioning as a railway technological innovation center, cultural exhibition center as well as international exchange center, providing reference and support for improving the allocation efficiency and operation status of HSR intellectual resources and information resources, and achieve internal momentum for development of intelligent railway.
